Fitness First

Fitness First logo

Faithorn Farrell Timms has completed an innovative suitability and condition assessment of the entire portfolio of Fitness First (UK) health and leisure clubs.

Inspections were made of 170 clubs throughout the UK and Channel Islands. Working closely with our client's in-house property team, we developed a bespoke survey system to achieve a comparative and objective assessment of each club.

The client is now taking this data forward to inform strategic business and maintenance planning decisions for the next financial year.

Faithorn Farrell Timms is working in conjunction with the Isle of Wight Council and the developer to deliver this scheme to a Code for Sustainable Homes Level in excess of 4.

The detailed designs currently feature an estate wide biomass boiler plant, as well as a number of significant water and energy efficiency measures on a unit by unit basis.

Greenwich Wharf

L&Q logo

We are Employer's Agents for this 244 unit riverside scheme on behalf of London & Quadrant Housing Trust which is located over two separate plots, either side of Banning Street, and comprises in-situ concrete and timber frame construction.

The entire scheme is served by communal heating systems served by four 100 metre deep geothermal bores, which eventually feed into conventional plant from which the hot water and underfloor heating to each unit is supplied.

The requirements for renewable energy are met without any gas supply or heating appliance being provided to any dwelling. All hobs and ovens are electric so there are no gas safety checks or flues.

Green Office Refurbishment

Guinness Trust logo logo

We have been commissioned by Guinness Trust to design and project manage the complete refurbishment of a 1960's office building near the 2012 London Olympics site in Stratford.

The brief requires renewable technologies and cladding systems to upgrade and improve the thermal efficiency of the building, including air source heat pumps and solar hot water, to achieve a BREAM rating of Very Good.

The building will become a flagship office to be occupied by Guinness Trust on completion.
