Residents 4 Low-Impact Sustainable Homes

On Friday 25th February 2011, the Relish™ show flat was opened, coinciding with the publication of the Relish™ phase one 12-month report. The opening was organised by our partners, Worthing Homes Ltd and Rydon and attended by Tim Loughton MP and Alison Mathias, Strategy Manager at the Homes & Communities Agency. The Relish™ show flat aims to educate people in improving the carbon-efficiency of their home, not only via cost-effective retrofit solutions, but also through behavioural changes of residents themselves. Procurement Toolkit for SMEs

We have been appointed by the MPs Commission of Stephen Lloyd, MP for Eastbourne, to produce a toolkit to assist Small and Medium Enterprises within his constituency in procuring work tendered by public bodies. This will cover works tendered under the Public Contracts Regulations 2006 (Amended 2009), give Best Practice advice in procuring other work and is scheduled to be launched in May 2011.

Grove Park Estate

We have been undertaking contract administration for the re-roofing and installation of photovoltaic panels on two 11-storey tower blocks, Merryfield House and Kingsfield House, in Lewisham. The panels have the benefit of low-maintenance, are self-cleaning and have a life expectancy of 25 years. These now power the communal lighting and any unused electricity is fed back into the national grid, generating income for our client, London & Quadrant Housing Trust.

Charlton Upbeats

On Sunday 27th February 2011, a Faithorn Farrell Timms team took part in a general knowledge quiz at Charlton Athletic Football Club. Attended by over 200 people the event raised nearly £5,000 for the Charlton Upbeats, a programme that engages young people with Down's Syndrome in a range of sporting activities. We would like to thank Martin Simons, and his wife Lee, for their organisation and generous donations to the raffle and auction.
